I’m Your Reason

“My husband, Don, and I have been married for almost 50 years. Several years back, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. As I got worse, my boys and Don decided to move me to a place where I could get more help. It breaks my heart being separated from Don, so he comes to visit every day. He got vaccinated so he doesn’t put me or anyone at the nursing home at risk. He’s still out and about in the world, and the last thing he wants to do is get me sick. I just wish my kids and grandkids would do the same.”

“I love what I do. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse and help people. I was diagnosed with severe asthma when I was nine and I never let it stop me from living my life. But then the pandemic hit, and I had to be so careful about who I was around. I wasn’t able to work at the nursing home for a while until the vaccine was available. I hope all my coworkers will get vaccinated so we can continue to care for our residents.”

“I love going to visit my grandparents. My grandma always has candy for me, and my grandpa usually has a new knock knock joke. My dad works in a nursing home. He told me how easy it was to spread COVID and how it could really hurt my grandparents. So, we decided to get the vaccine together. Now I feel better about visiting my grandma and grandpa and doing my part to keep them safe.”
